Crystal Pauli

As Dean of the College of Education at Dakota State University, and throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Crystal Pauli has been dedicated to preparing South Dakota’s future educators and dedicated to the art of educating.

Prior to becoming Dean in 2016, she served as Director of Field Services for 13 years and special education faculty for two years. She served a Child Study Coordinator for the SW/WC Service Cooperative, and a special education teacher in Minnesota. Crystal also spent time as an elementary teacher in South Dakota. She retired from Dakota State University in April 2021, celebrating an incredible 22 years there. Crystal deeply understands the many ways educators can have a lifelong impact not only on their students, but on families and communities.

Crystal is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, VFW Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary, and American Association of University Women. She is a past member of the Board of Regents Education Discipline Council and South Dakota Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. She is involved in teacher education accreditation at the local, state, and national levels. For her work ensuring South Dakota teachers not only succeed, but excel, so that their students do as well, we honor Crystal Pauli.
