Honoring: Gladys Pyle

Gladys Pyle was the first woman to be elected to the senate without being previously appointed to the United States Congress. Gladys was also the first woman to hold a congressional office in South Dakota.

“I chose to draw Gladys Pyle. I was inspired to draw her because she was born in 1880 in Huron and was the first woman to be elected to the US Senate. Pretty cool!”
